Service Learning is a class that provides students with opportunities and experiences that will benefit them in their future careers. At the same time, class members engage in meaningful community service projects. This year, there are 39 seniors enrolled in service learning. Each one goes out to a different service site each day to learn both good job and communication skills as well as how to interact with coworkers and people in the community. Students are placed in our schools, hospitals, veterinary offices, funeral homes, and in many other businesses. At the end of the week, the class members volunteer their time to help others. Whether it is organizing a party for our CDC classes, volunteering at Head Start, or just visiting with patients in the nursing home, the service learning class is always willing to lend a helping hand.
